IMPLEMENTATION of INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND STATISTICS DEPARTMENT
The board members decided that the management of Pamol create a department of
Information System and Statistics.
The responsibility of the Information System and Statistics Department is to
manage the collection, analysis and presentation of information to assist
decision-making and to enhance business competitiveness. It is typically
used as a tool by management to assess and monitor business performance
and to help compare or identify possible business alternatives, i.e.
introduction of new activities and process modification in industries.
Basic functions of the department is to systematically capture data from operations; to
analyze data and transform into meaningful information; and to report and
make use of information such as monitoring performance and improving any
given process or activities.
OBJECTIVES
Since businesses have to face higher competition, Information Technology (IT)
has proven to be a crucial part of business decision making to obtain a leading
edge. Moreover, IT is also applied to other parts of the business such as
Marketing, Human Resources, Production process and Eco-efficiency.
A number of internal and external drivers encourage PAMOL PLANTATIONS Plc to focus on eco-efficiency practices.

The tender was ran twice. The first Tender expired the tender board with observers from Yaounde could not find
a company in Cameroon who had a plantation software we needed. We launched a second tender which was won by iSmart from India.

The Harvest Plus Program:
HARVEST Plus from iSmart Business Solutions Ltd, is the latest ERP version in .Net platform designed and developed exclusively for the plantation Industry. HARVEST Plus is designed as a modular package spanning and integrating the multiple tiers of plantations, right from the Cultivation and Processing level to the group and corporate levels. The program tracks all the Plantation Operations in the company and all the information processed at the Datacenter in Lobe Head Office. The consultants customized the program to Pamols needs, rolex replica connected all the locations in Lobe with Fiber Optics and taught the employees how to use the Modules. So as soon as a truck goes over the weighbridge for example the data is automatically available to the system which then sends to all related Modules(Finance, Plantation, Management etc).

Present Challenges - Connectivity:
Pamol is trying to connect all the remote plantations so that information from the plantations like Ndian and Bai will be fed automatically and directly into the Datacenter in Lobe.
