The General Manager of Pamol Plantations plc Mbile Tapea Solomon was honoured by the Guardian Post Magazine with the most Resilient and Innovative General Manager of the year Award on February 17,2024, at Bengo Hotel in Ebolowa in the South West Region of Cameroon
In an effort to promote excellence and sanity in the management of public business within the country, the Guardian Post, one of the most renowned print media houses in Cameroon has made it a tradition to distinguish public servants who record outstanding achievements during the year. Before his appointment at the helm of Pamol, the Corporation was facing serious challenges; not only had many workers abandoned employment due to insecurity, but work on the plantations was very timid as not up to 30% of the plantations was being exploited. The few workers working at that time went for several months without pay.
Ever since his appointment to steward the affairs of the Corporation, there has been a steady increase in the exploitable area of the plantations which as at today stands at about 75%, The work force has also greatly improved from less than 120 employees to about 400.There has been a regular and prompt payment of salaries. Accumulated leave dues have all been settled. The mills which had been severely vandalized by armed thugs have today know an impressive facelift.
Retirees are now being paid their retirement dues. The heavy burden regarding the accumulation of unpaid workers’ social security benefits is now receiving due attention and this has rekindled hopes in workers.
If ever anybody doubted the wisdom in the appointment of this technocrat at the helm of affairs in Pamol then by now his balance sheet within these three and a half years would have dispelled even the least iota of doubt in their minds. Little wonder that the Guardian Post easily spotted Mr., Mbile Tapea Solomon fot the distinction.
